Hi Everyone,

2pm next Saturday would be fine with me and it would be really good to
see as many people there as possible (or at a different time if its more
convenient for everyone else).

I've done a bit of research on printers and found three that seem to fit
our budget and needs best. All the printers are around £70ish (there's a
big jump in prices after that to around £130 for printers that don't
seem to be any better for our needs) which would leave a nice amount of
money to invest in other equipment. If we could get some extra money
from the college an A3 printer would make a huge difference though (they
start at about £180). So, I've summarised 3 A4 printers below and there
are more detailed reviews online if anyone is interested.

*Canon PIXMA iP4500 - £64 - *9600x2400 dpi, 5 ink (CYM + 2K), USB
PictBridge, 3.87p per colour page (full review
<http://www.trustedreviews.com/printers/review/2007/11/30/Canon-PIXMA-iP4500/p1>)
*Epson Stylus Photo R360 - £81 - *5760x1440 dpi, 6 ink (CYMK + light
cyan & light magenta), USB PictBridge, Camera card slots, LCD display,
51.9p per colour page (full review
<http://www.trustedreviews.com/printers/review/2007/02/15/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R360/p1>)
*HP Photosmart D7160 - £71 - *4800x1200 dpi, 6 ink (CYMK + light cyan &
light magenta), USB PictBridge, Camera card slots, LCD display, 53.7p
per colour page (full review
<http://www.trustedreviews.com/printers/review/2007/03/02/HP-Photosmart-D7160/p1>)

The Canon seems to have the best print quality, it's reasonably fast
(compared to the Epson) and it's economical to run. All the printers
have PictBridge which means we don't need the printer to be hooked up to
a computer - we can just plug in our cameras (almost all of which will
have a printing feature built in). A camera card slot and LCD display is
a bonus but definitely not essential.

All the prices are from eBuyer.com and they qualify for free delivery
along with a full set of free inks. There's not as much choice for A3
printers (and the prices go up quite steeply) but the A3 equivalent of
the Canon seems to be fairly reasonable at £184 (Canon Pixma Ix4000
<http://www.ebuyer.com/product/110492>).

Sorry its been another long email but it would be good to get some input
from anyone if they have any thoughts about which printer to go for (or
any others that I've not mentioned) or a good place to keep it and maybe
we can come to a decision at the meeting next Saturday.
