Hi everyone,
Don't worry if you didn't make it to the meeting last weekend. It would
be useful though if everyone who wasn't there could let me know for
planning purposes :
* How much experience you have with photography
* Whether you shoot in film or digital (or whether you're interested
in using the dark room anyway)
I've also negotiated access for anyone who wants to go to the university
photography society's Beginner Workshop for £1 on Saturday the 25th from
around 2pm to 6pm. The details they sent are:
We are hoping to hold a Novice Workshop for point & shoot users and
those new to SLRs & DSLRs in the afternoon of *Saturday 25th October*,
which will involve a little bit of physics (at most 30 minutes),
followed by 1 hour of shooting and 30 minutes of review. *Would
experienced users *(anyone who's been shooting for more than 12 months)*
wishing to be involved with this please email me (dshcc2) with their
name, college, camera model?* I'd like to have a ratio of at least one
to every two novice.
I need to know who wants to go ideally by tomorrow evening at 6pm so
please let me know when as soon as possible. If anyone is interested in
joining PhoCUS, it's probably worth it as we've been offered a discount
on the £20 lifetime membership price for Queens' photosoc members and
you get a really good discount at Jessops with your PhoCUS card as well
as access to all their workshops and talks.
Finally, I've just about got putting photos up in the bar sorted out
(despite large amounts of college politics) so presuming we get enough
money from the JCR, we should be able to get about 10 photo frames put
up to replace the current artwork in the bar sometime in the next few
weeks. That means as well as needing a hand with putting the frames up,
we need to decide as a society what photos to put up so have a look for
your favourite summer holiday photos and bring them along to our next
meeting. I'm busy this weekend so if as many people can make it as
possible, we can have a proper photoshare session on Sunday 26th October.
Matt
