Just to amplify Duncan's answer a little, see the section "Configure
the naming service" file README.win32 in the top directory of the
distribution for how to tell the NT machine where to find the name
service.

Similarly, see README.unix for how to do this linux. For both
architectures I would strongly recommend the new(ish) approach:

      ORBInitialHost wobble
      ORBInitialPort 1234
