[omniORB] Building examples under Solaris make

Comrades:

I am setting up omniORB for the first time and would like to build
the examples.  I am running under Solaris 2.5, and using their v4.2 C++
compiler.  The file README.unix says that the examples must be built
with GNUmake; here is a quote from the file:

  You are strongly encouraged to try out the examples provided in ./examples.
  Go into ./examples and type 'make all'. Make sure that 'make' is GNUmake
  because the makefiles are all GNUmake specific.
  
Is there some way to use the "regular" make?
