[omniORB] Network question

I have the same problem on Windows 2000. When omninames initialises its
confutation files it seems to keep the IP address, so when you are off the
network and using the local loop-back address of 127.0.0.1 then the naming
service will not run. You can re-initialise the config-files
omninames-machinename.log and .bak (after saving them) with:-
Omninames -start 2809 -logdir 'your-path-here'
And it will work until you go back on the network when you will need the
original config files again. I don't' know if there is a better solution
that does not involve swapping files and re-starting.

Subject:	[omniORB] Network question

Hi all !

I have installed omniORB 4.0 and i'm using the omniNames to locate the
objects.

I have a problem when trying to run a server application if i unplug
the ethernet cable.

I have try configuring the ORB with socket UNIX endPoints not TCP but
no success. Do you have to have a network connection running ? I only
want to have the loopback enabled, is it possible ? Must i have run the
omniNames with some special argument ?

Thanks,
Jorge
