Dear seasoned paps and casual snappers,

Welcome to Queens' Photography Society! Sorry if you get this email
more than once... Anyway we've got a great term of fun photography
things lined up for you:

1) Darkroom Workshop - Queens' is possibly the only college with a
fully stocked darkroom, so if you'd like to have a go at developing
your own shots, then now's the perfect time to learn. We should be
running some workshops later on in the term for that, and I'll send
out an email nearer the time asking for people to sign up.

2) Bar photo exhibition. You may have noticed the framed photos up in
the corner of the bar near the pool tables. We like to change the
photos in this mini exhibition every so often, and now is the hour.
The theme for the next lot will be SPOOKY, to go with the nights
drawing in and halloween being on its way. Send me your dark, scary,
magical, weird, or otherwise surreal photographs and we'll pick six
complementary shots to go in the frames (if we don't have room for at
least one by everyone who sends me something this time, we'll
prioritise those who missed out next time). Email me (csr31) a link to
your work by Sunday evening (18th) please!

3) Photo discussions and photo challenges. Hopefully in the next
couple of weeks we'll set a photo challenge for people to go out and
have a go at photographing a Cambridge landmark, and then have a
chilled-out meetup with delicious snacks to compare our shots and
techniques.

4) Field Trip. There will be a mystery photography field trip/social
at the end of term, so watch this space!

5) Equipment hire. We have an A3 Photo Printer (strictly for use for
printing society members' photographs only, not for other societies to
use for posters or anything), a big sturdy tripod, and some reflectors
that are all available for our members to use. If you'd like to borrow
something, drop me an email and I'll get it sorted for you asap.

Basically, it's all happening. As ever, this society is very low-
commitment, so keep signed up to the mailing list for information and
then you can pick and choose the activities you fancy. I'll also
sometimes send you links to interesting photography news,
competitions, or other inspiring things, but these will be rare and I
promise not to spam you.

Sorry for the essay, but your basic to-do list is send me a spooky
photo, think about whether or not you want to learn about the
darkroom, and fasten your seatbelts.

See you all soon!
