Hi all,

Helen Swift's just dropped me an email asking me to remind you to send
in your shots for the JCR Newsletter's Photo of the Week. They have
one every week (as you'll probably have noticed) and I think it's a
lovely way to decorate the newsletter, as well as for the whole
college to see what you've been up to photography-wise. Here's what
Helen says about it:

"I'm not sure that people are overly aware that we welcome submissions
every week and it would be a great way to get Queens' photography
talent shown off round college. The photos don't need to be recent but
just Queens' or Cambridge related, people or places - although we may
have seen enough of the Mathematical Bridge by now...

The photos won't get used for anything other than the newsletter so
people don't need to be worried about copyright-ish issues!

I hope members will be keen to show off their work. I would welcome
more than one submission from people as it would be nice to have some
back up photos and I wouldn't want to be pestering the society every
week!

The newsletter goes out every Monday eve so any keen photographers
should please send me a photo by then..."

So yeah, go for it! Send things to hs422.

Other photography news and sundries: We still haven't managed to find
a darkroom teacher. If anyone knows anyone who knows their way around
a darkroom, please please please email me! Also, keep Saturday 28th
free, because that's when we're having our photography field trip to
Ely, of which more details soon.

Okay, instead of a bunny this time (although that was wildly popular)
I'm going to leave you with a link to the highlights from The
Guardian's feature on the best press photographs of the 20th Century.
Some of them are just incredible, and while a couple of them are the
uber famous ones you'd expect to see, some are really unusual. Hope
they're inspiring! http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/gallery/2009/nov/10/100-years-press-photography

What's that? Oh go on then, have a bunny as well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/firenzesca/2077004257/

Big love and f-stops,

Charlotte x
