Dear all,
Our meeting on tuesday will take place after this talk at the Architecture
dept, it promises to be very interesting. We'll meet in the plodge at 7.15,
the talk is at 7.30. For those of you who don't want to come to the talk,
lets meet in the bar, we should be back about 8.30-8.45, but if we're later
have a drink in the meantime. We should be able to start the meeting by 9
in the conservatory area as usual.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first talk of this term is by the photographer, SIMON ROBERTS. He will
be discussing his latest work, 'Motherland', a bold visual statement about
the nature of contemporary Russia, fifteen years after the collapse of the
Soviet Union. Intimate and revealing portraits of contemporary Russians
show us a diverse people, united by a sense of common identity and
connected by a shared love of 'the Motherland', while breathtaking
landscapes reveal the complexity and uniqueness of the country. COME! It
promises to be a fascinating insight into the experiences of a professional
photographer.
