[QueensPhoto] upcoming events and next meeting

Dear All,

A few things coming up soon which you might be interested in. The 
university photographic society, phocus, is running a photoshare session 
like we've been doing, here's the blurb


1.) *Photoshare Saturday 03/03/07*_

    Bring along a small portfolio of your photos on a memory stick and 
discuss them with fellow photographers. Alternatively, just bring
    yourself along and get inspired! Beginners welcome.
    Venue: Emmanuel College
    Time: 4-5.30pm

It's very useful and very enjoyable, and you might learn something too!

2.) Some good news, the better enlarger in the darkroom is now fully 
operational again, so don't let that keep you from getting down there and 
doing some developing. Let me know as ever if you need a hand.

3.) EXHIBITION
     It's that time of year when we should start thinking about putting on 
an exhibition during the summer term and May week. But first we need some 
pictures to exhibit! I would be nice to show some of the work which has 
been done in the darkroom over the year, so you need to get printing! I 
don't have a particular theme in mind, but a display of your best pictures 
will be great. Last year's exhibition had a high proportion of 
landscape-ish images so it would be nice to have some more of people, 
something to bear in mind perhaps when you are out and about with a camera. 
If you have any colour pictures, email them to me and I'll start 
collecting, we do have a budget for printing colour too.

Lastly, I'm thinking of running some basic core technique workshops 
regarding how the camera works and which settings to use to achieve certain 
effects plus any other technical issues, like photoshop for example, which 
people would like to learn about. We could do the same on things like 
composition, lighting and so on.

Can I suggest our NEXT MEETING be at 3pm on Saturday in the bar, just bring 
whatever you have been doing or something which interests you. Please let 
me know if you CAN make it so I don't have to sit there in vain. Afterwards 
whoever wants to can head off to Emma for the phocus thing.
