Hey everyone, Just a couple of things before I go home for the holidays:
the first is for anyone interested in Wildlife/Nature photography - visit
the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History
Museum, it is the most stunning display of superb images I have ever seen
(I go every year) and well worth the £3 student entry. Everyone should take
a look, it's on the web too, but not the same of course! You might be
interested in this exhibition/competition from the uni. photography society
as well... And lastly, have a very Happy Christmas and a well-deserved
break! Oliver

Subject: Major exhibition for International Womens' week-Submit your entries!
Date: 05 Dec 2005 10:09:53 +0000

Dear members,

We are proud to announce a major exhibition to be taking place in Lent term
'06, in association with CUSU as part of the International Womens' Week! It
will be one of the major event among talks, debates and a film festival
occuring during this week.

The exhibition will run in the popular Michaelhouse Cafe from 27th February
to the 11th March. The aim is quite ambitious; to explore the personality &
diversity of women in Britain and the world over through the medium of
photography. The theme is "The Female Image". What does that say to you?
Depict it through a photo; after all, a picture's worth a thousand words.

We want this exhibition to be a public display of the best of *your*
photos. Submitting to the exhibition is open to everyone with as many
entries as you want but photos to be exhibited will be selected by
professional photographers with an interest in 'the female image', so only
the best ones or the more original will remain. Being selected to have your
photo exhibited will not only mean presenting your work to hundreds of
people, but also that you'll have contributed to an amazing exhibition in
aid of a very worthy cause.

The following categories are guidelines to get those creative juices
flowing; they are not rigid and as usual, interpret the theme in your own
way, be creative and different, in six words, feel free to be a rebel!

'Generations'
'Working women'
'Struggle'
'Diversity'
'Daily Life'
'Girls just wanna have fun'

Don't feel you have to limit yourself to photographs of women. We want to
see as many sides to the coin that is a 'female image' as possible; just to
what the idea of 'female image' relates to you? in the society? in your
daily life?

The entries deadline will be the 1st February, from when the selection
process will begin. Happy photographing!

The PhoCUS Committee
(Cambridge University Photographic Society)
