[omniORB] CORBA costs in implimentation and OmniOrb

Hi i recently read that CORBA commercial implimentation is very costly and
license per a single seat could be quiet heavy. I was hoping someone could
clarify what this means ? As far as i know OmniOrb is open source and could
be used freely. It is kind of a wrapper over the CORBA architecture am i
correct ?? Plus I thought that CORBA was free ??
