[omniORB] omniEvents on FreeBSD

My dear friends on omniORB list,
Has anyone compiled and used the omniEvents on FreeBSD?
I have years of experience with it on RedHat/Fedora but none with the FreeBSD and/or *BSD. Recently I found that only omniORB and omniNotify are in the ported list of FreeBSD and now I am confusing. Why it is omniNotify instead of the so popular and light weight omniEvents? Can omniEvents be ported to FreeBSD and how about the performance of it and also the omniORB on that platform?
