Hi,

I had the same problem. Fixed it by changing :
# Network configuration
HOSTNAME=-localhost-
ROUTER=-AUTOMATIC-

to

# Network configuration
HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC-
ROUTER=-AUTOMATIC-
in the /etc/hostconfig file and rebooted.

Regards
Jon

Did you have any luck with eg2?

I get:

echo> ./eg2_impl &

[1] 3607

echo> omniORB: Warning: the local loop back interface (127.0.0.1) is
used as

this server's address. Only clients on this machine can talk to

this server.

'IOR:000000000000000d49444c3a4563686f3a312e3000000000000000010000000000000060000102000000000a3132372e302e302e3100c39f0000000efe3de4b793170e0000000000000000000000000200000000000000080000000041545400000000010000001c00000000000100010000000105010001000101090000000100010109'

echo> ./eg2_clt
'IOR:000000000000000d49444c3a4563686f3a312e3000000000000000010000000000000060000102000000000a3132372e302e302e3100c39f0000000efe3de4b793170e0000000000000000000000000200000000000000080000000041545400000000010000001c00000000000100010000000105010001000101090000000100010109'

Caught a CORBA::SystemException.

So it throws an exception.

By the way, how do I get rid of that warning about 127.0.0.1?

I have

clientTransportRule = localhost unix,tcp

serverTransportRule = localhost unix,tcp
