[omniORB] problem with omniNames - anyone can help me ?

Hi,

I have the following problem : I start omniNames (on port 4499) and then I
try to run "nameclt list" but I get the error: 
list: Cannot contact the Naming Service because of COMM_FAILURE.

I have the /etc/omniORB.cfg set up correctly.
Also the logfile in /var/omniNames seems to be OK.
Network is configured OK.

The error persists also for sample echo programs (eg3).

I run on Linux RedHat 5.0 with egcs-1.0.3a

Anyone could help me - I would be grateful
