I experienced an 'abnormal program term' in case of truncated pasting of
ior into the registry (Win95); in this case there is an uncaught
marshalling exception which leads to the termination above. However all
examples terminated that way, and it was pretty hard to understand the
reason until removing the registry entry; even eg1 didn't run anymore,
while it did before touching the registry.
About IORs, since OMG doesn't specify the string form of an IOR, why not
using a real Ascii one, such as an URL ?
Yes, it shouldn't be a directly managed string (by humans), however is has
to be moved around; moreover, it keeps a Tcp/IP address which sometimes is
useful to read, at least for checking out installations.
