Hi,
I usually call on CORBA object reference the service._non_existent() method.

Subject: [omniORB] best way to see if a CORBA server is alive

What is the best way to see if a CORBA server is alive or not? My requirement is to poll the server every x secs and see if
the application is still alive(or hasn't crashed). I use omniORB 4.1.6. Is there an API that does this or should I just invoke a RPC and see if an exception is thrown?

Regards
Dhruba
