[omniORB] omniorb + java?

Hi all;

sorry for posting this again, but after trying and searching for
some more documentation on that sort of things, I still can't get
any closer to having a Java application use a running omniNames
server for CORBA.

omniorb is 4.0.5 (atop debian/sid), and I'm using JDK 1.5.0_01.
Bootstrap Agent configuration in /etc/omniORB4.cfg is enabled
according to the omniorb FAQ, and I am trying to use the
-ORBInitialHost / -ORBInitialPort parameters. No matter, it always
ends up with an error like that:

---snip---

13.06.2005 09:22:25
com.sun.corba.se.impl.transport.SocketOrChannelConnectionImpl <init>
WARNUNG: "IOP00410201: (COMM_FAILURE) Connection failure:
socketType: IIOP_CLEAR_TEXT; hostname: kassiopeia; port: 900"
org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: SUN minor code: 201 completed: No
        at
com.sun.corba.se.impl.logging.ORBUtilSystemException.connectFailure(ORBUtilSystemException.java:2172)
[...]

---snip---

I don't really have a clue what's the reason for that issue. The log
files of omniNames don't produce any useful output. I also tried
varying some of the TransportRule's inside omniORB4.cfg, but didn't
change anything to the better.

Can anyone around here using Java possibly enlighten me?

Thanks,
Kris
