[omniORB] Usage of LOCATION_FORWARD / OBJECT_FORWARD

Hello,

I have a question regarding usage of LOCATION_FORWARD / OBJECT_FORWARD in replies to CORBA requests. The question is related to the configuration of a firewall protecting my server objects.
The firewall is configured to allow traffic for dedicated ports, and as I know the client as well as the server ports I have no issues.
But I wonder if the server responds with a reply (e.g. LocateReply) containing a LOCATION_FORWARD / OBJECT_FORWARD with a new IOR (and possible a new port) if the scenario is still working as the new port might not be allowed by the firewalls policy.

In what circumstances is the LOCATION_FORWARD / OBJECT_FORWARD used? Is there a scenario where omniORB servers make usage of this type of resonse?
(I just saw this behaviour contacting an Orbacus NameService with corbaloc reference)

Thanks,
Florian
