[omniORB] unexpected behavior - CORBA automatic retries?

I think that was me. If you add a handler for transient exceptions, you can
get the behavior you want (I did). See chapter six of the omniORB
(6.11)/omniORBpy (6.9) documentation.

Hi Adrian,

I believe, omniORB's connection timeout mechanism works
by cutting the connection, if the invocation has not
completed within the specified time. Further more omniORB
retries invocations, which fail due to presumably transient
transport layer problems such as broken connections. I seem
to recall, someone else on the list reporting a similar
problem.

Yours sincerely,

Bjorn
