Hi Matthew, It looks fine to me. I dont really see, how one could check reliably without actually contacting the name service, so with a bit of exception handling you should be fine. Is there a particular reason for not configuring the name service in the omniORB config file? Would you by any chance be using several unrelated name services? Yours sincerely, Bjorn
