[omniORB] Building omniORB 304 on RH 7.1 with gcc 2.96

Hello all,

Sorry to be asking what may be an obvious question, but should the file
'omni/mk/platforms/i586_linux_2.0_glibc2.1_gcc2.96.mk' include 
'$(THIS_IMPORT_TREE)/external_merge/mk/platforms/i586_linux_2.0_glibc2.1.mk'?

It seem to me that the correct path should be
'$(THIS_IMPORT_TREE)/mk/platforms/i586_linux_2.0_glibc2.1.mk'. When I
modified it, everything build okay.


In other words, what is the purpose/reason of the 'external_merge'
presence in the path?
