I have WinNT 4.0 SP 5.
I have only one network card and it is recognized as Compaq Ethernet or Fast
Ethernet NIC

Don't think it's anything to do with that. What version of Windows are
you using?

This is due to a race condition in the shutdown code. It's on the list
of things to fix.
