Dear omniORB users,

The omniORB 4.0 development has now reached a stage where it contains
sufficent new features to worth your while to check it out. I have written a
wiki page to report its status:

Status

A lot of changes have been done under the bonnet. This includes a rewrite of
the GIOP implementation, new thread management, new transport abstraction,
etc. When 4.0 is finished, hopefully we will be able to address most, if not
all, of your concerns. For instance, the interoperability problem with other
ORBs that multiplex calls onto a single connection will be solved. (Don't
get too excited, we are not there yet, close though..)

Please help by giving the new ORB a good test drive.

I'm particularly interested to hear any problems with interoperability.

Regards,

Sai-Lai

PS. With any luck, I'll be able to check-in my changes to make the source
compile with gcc 3.0 tonight.
