[omniORB] Question about Gauge.py

Hi,

I am reusing the Gauge.py class in the omniORBpy
weather example in my application.

I am using it as a way of creating a GUI
instrumentation display of some properties of
my application.  The Gauge.py is a fun
GUI widget and easy to use.

My question is:
- did the omniORB team write this widget on their own?
- how hard is it to write GUI widgets in Python?
- does anyone know of a source of other GUI widgets which 
  could be used for instrumentation?  I'm interested in
  switches, dials, and a scrolling line graph.
