[omniORB] Building OmniORB on OpenVMS

I want to build OmniORB on OpenVMS. Normally you will need MMS which is 
very expensive and I do not have. Because of this I tried the freeware 
clone of MMS which is called MMK. But this tool dumps a core dump at 
mms/macro=(dir.mms)/descrip=...
That is always when you try to use a macro you get the core dump.
It would be fine if the OmniORB building procedure could be made 
compatible with the free MMK tool
or if somebody could tell me HOWTO-build-OmniORB-on-OpenVMS-without-MMS
