Hi,

When looking for RPM's of omniORB, I found only some three year old
mails requesting them, but no actual packages. So I decided to roll my
own and share the results.
The current SPEC file is not perfect yet: currently it only works on
i386 glibc Linux platforms, because the SPEC file has a hard coded
setting of the build plaform to i586_linux_2.0_glibc. Some 'if arch ='
staments will have to be added to fix this. Ultimately I would like to
see omniORB fully autoconf'ed, so I can just do './configure' instead.
Any autoconf guru's out there?
Both the SPEC file and the source and binary RPMs can be found at:
http://alcatraz.webcriminals.com/pub/omniorb/ .
The binary RPMS have been compiled on a RedHat 6.1 distribution, using
them on RH6.2 should be OK too, I guess.

Please let me know what you think!

Cheers,

PS. For some reason the name of the omnORB source tarball and toplevel
dir has been changed from omniORB_2.x.y.tar.gz to omniORB_2xy.tar.gz.
OmniORB maintainers, could you please reverse this change? '2.8.0' makes
a lot more sense than '280'. Also, in the SPEC file I can refer to the
first name with omniORB_%{version}.tar.gz, for the latter I'll need some
ugly regex to convert.
