[omniORB] Corba advice needed

Hi,

My company produces a hardware card that slots into a PC's
motherboard.  This card
provides certain services, manipulation on data, etc. for
applications.  I want to use
multiple cards in one machine and multiple machines in a
cluster.  Each card is
different from other cards in its configuration and although all
commands can
be issued on all cards, a specific card must be used for a
specific application.

I want to implement the above in CORBA.  Can anyone give me any
information
on whether it's a wise decision, maybe pointers on how to go
about it?
