The Inprise/Visibroker firewall/tunnelling product may work with OmniORB =
- it just passes the requests through the firewall - have a look at =
their website.

be correct.

Subject:	[omniORB] HTTP tunnelling issues?

All --

We are potentially considering developing an addition to omniORB to
support ORB requests over HTTP (to tunnel under firewalls). I just
wanted to query the folks on the list to see if there has been any work
done on this by anyone else for omniORB. We are aware of Orbix's
WonderWall product, but suspect (without proof) that this might not work
in a purely omniORB environment. =20

Before deciding to embark on this project, we also will look carefully
at Sai Lai's suggestions about how to add an additional transport to
omniORB (http://www.orl.co.uk:80/omniORB/archives/1998-02/0050.html).=20
Any further issues that anyone might be aware of?

If we do, in fact, develop this, we would of course make it available
to the omniORB community at large. Judging by the several requests for
this functionality on the list over time, I suspect that there is demand
out there.

Thanks,
-- Randy
