Win95, Standalone computer

I tried to install omniORB2 to standalone Windows95.
Unsuccessful.

"omniNames -start XXX" returns that it cannot recieve messages on
specified port, for any port.

I installed TCP/IP, modem software. The same result.

One person said me that I need network adapter in computer. I suppose
it will be OK if I install it.

But does it mean that I cannot use omniORB2 with modem connections?
PPP, for example?

And Is there a way to develop and test applications using omniORB2 on
standalone computer without modem or network card?
